Healthy Eating
We are very aware of the importance of children eating healthy and nutritious food. We provide home-cooked meals (at an additional cost) which our staff eat with the children to encourage the children to have good table manners, eating habits and social skills.
We aim to encourage children to eat well and learn about their food. This is within the guidance from the Schools Food Trust.
The setting provides an ideal opportunity to help every child to eat well, enjoy a varied diet and establish healthy eating habits to take with them through their school years. A cooked lunch can be provided, the menus work on a four-weekly running basis and are always on display in the nursery. Snacks are included in the fee for the morning and afternoon.
All snack and lunches are varied across the week with all food groups and nutrition taken into consideration. We welcome children with religious beliefs and allergies, supplying them with suitable snacks and lunches that cater to their needs.
Access to drinking water and fresh milk is available at all times.
